Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog


Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog (ABBB) originated in Alapaha River region of Southern Georgia. It is an American rare dog breed which is getting extinct.

This dog breed is a strong, muscular and well-developed one. The male dog weighs around 100 lbs whereas the female weighs about 78 lbs. The male has a height of 23 - 26 inches and that of the female is around 20 - 23 inches. This working dog breed has different skin colors ranging from white, black, brown, grey, fawn, mahogany, red, tan, and blue. It is an average hair shredder. One great thing about his breed is that it does not drool.

Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog is an excellent guardian besides being a great companion. It is used on farms for catching hogs and working cattle. It also serves as a great family guard dog. It gets along very well with children and other animals around it.

This dog has a high endurance level and is quite strong yet agile. It has a natural instinct of guarding its territory and its family. It does not show aggressive behavior but when needed, it will do whatever it can do to protect its family.

You will find this dog to be highly obedient so it becomes very easy to train it. It is also very intelligent. Highly energetic and active, this breed requires lots of exercises and physical activities. If you would be keeping it in an apartment, make sure to give it sufficient exercises. Take it out for long walks frequently.

You do not need to groom this dog very frequently. Brush it occasionally and bathe it once in two weeks and it would be fine.
